It is not the beauty of the Mountains that drives the Corrupt Nobles in their expansion for the land, but the untold wealth beneath the stones, now only being mined by dwarven kind.

Nor do they see the richness of the gentle glade, teeming with life, but only see an acre or more needing to be plowed and tilled, creating more grain for sustaining them and their greed.

What matter, that game will become scare, perhaps rare, when animals, domesticated by man, will provide for all their needs?

Forgotten is the beauty of the hawk, soaring in the azure sky, riding the thermals and seeking out distant prey. What need, unless leashed to man's hand and tamed, is this glorious creature?

What need for the grace of a fleeing deer, except as game to be hunted for pleasure and sport? All is passingly swift in the eyes of man.

Thus it is, man's continuing greed and need to tame what should remain untamed, that has led to war. Now lands, once home of the elves, halflings and gnomes lie beneath the yoke of man...And still they spread...
